Children will learn the fundamentals of linocut stamp making in this hands-on workshop with visiting Artist in Residence Samantha Thompson.
Guided by a professional artist, participants will design and carve their own stamps using specialist linocutting tools and high-quality materials. Along the way, they’ll learn about pattern, positive and negative space, and how to translate ideas into bold, graphic prints. Once finished carving, kids will ink and print with their handmade stamps.
This workshop is rich in skills and materials and is ideal for kids who love detail, process and making something truly their own. Children will leave with a collection of original stamps they’ve designed and created themselves.
There will be two sessions of Stamp It Up across consecutive days. This session works perfectly as a stand-alone workshop, or participants can return on Thursday 9 April for extra practice, refinement and confidence-building.
