In this hands-on encaustic art workshop, children will create their own gecko artworks using layers of melted beeswax. Guided by artist Elaine Morcombe, participants will explore carving, texture and pattern by scratching back into wax to reveal hidden colours and bring their geckos to life.
This session builds on encaustic techniques in a playful and expressive way, encouraging creativity, experimentation and confidence with tools and materials. Each child will create a finished encaustic gecko artwork to take home.
