Art Lab: Intro to Linocut
Learn lino cutting from Samantha Thompson, a professional visiting artist in residence.
Linocut is a printmaking technique where a design is carved into a sheet of linoleum using gouges. Raised areas are inked with a roller (brayer), then pressed onto paper or fabric to create bold prints.
Ink, linocut, tools and paper are all provided. People finish the workshop with their own artwork and take home a couple of prints.
Who is it for? Everyone aged 14+ (10+ if accompanied) that is interested in art, previous experience is not required.

Please note:
This workshop involves the use of linocut carving tools, which are sharp. Participants will receive a clear safety briefing and will be closely supervised in the correct and safe use of all equipment.
