Some plants don’t just sit around waiting for sunlight — they attract prey to trap.
In this fascinating KickArts workshop, children will explore the weird and wonderful world of carnivorous plants, focusing on species found right here around Esperance. Led by much-loved local botanist and artist Katie White (Caladenia Co), this session blends ecology, observation and creative expression.
Kids will learn how predatory plants trap insects, why they grow where they do, and what makes them so unique. Using reference images of local carnivorous plants, participants will then respond creatively through guided art-making, combining learning with hands-on creativity.
This workshop encourages curiosity about the natural world while giving kids space to observe, imagine and create.
