Bee Hotel

Participants will create a Bee House using all natural materials they gather around the Cannery Arts Centre Forage Garden to “furnish” their Bee Hotel. The main frame will be provided and participants have the option of decorating it with paint. Facilitated by Silke Apel who has a passion for everything gardening, and loves to assist people in growing their own food and applying permaculture principles to everyday life. Silke will also share knowledge about the importance of having bees and other beneficial Insects in your garden and the different housing needs those animals have.

All other materials are provided. Participants should wear clothes suitable for crafting, and must wear closed in shoes. Recommended to send them with a labelled water bottle.

SAFETY: Please be aware this workshop will involve the children collecting items from the Forage vegetable patch and Cannery gardens-please provide information if your child has any allergies to bees, insects, pollens etc. You will be asked this in the booking process.
