DIY SPECULATIVE TECH WORKSHOP WITH ANA TIQUIA

How do new technologies emerge? Whose values and choices shape the technologies we use? What technologies would you like to use in the future? Join our Artist in Residence-futurist Ana Tiquia in a workshop to explore the values and cultures behind our everyday technologies, explore your preferred futures and make your own new, speculative tech to bring these futures to life.

In this workshop you will explore: different ideas about technology, tools and frameworks used by professional futurists to consider the future, and prototyping techniques to create speculative tech. All workshop participants will have the opportunity to prototype a speculative technology from a diverse array in the media of their choice – from text to audio, sculpture, collage, code, photography or video, illustration. No specialist technical knowledge or proficiency is required for this workshop. Just bring your imagination and curiosity about the possibilities of technology!
