Grab a roller and see what fun imprints that leaves and flowers make, an exciting explorative experience, mixing science and art. Katie White is a botanist and scientist, turned artist and educator. She gets great excitement and joy out of the many wonders of the natural world and is passionate about sharing and connecting. Participants will create multiple pieces of paper printed with flowers and leaves. Paintings may need time to dry overnight and can be collected in the following days. All wildflowers will be collected under appropriate licenses.

All materials are provided. Participants should wear clothes suitable for crafting, and must wear closed in shoes. Recommended to send them with a labelled water bottle.

The Print Room will be opened for members to pursue their creative printing practices using the Cannery's Print Room equipment, including the lino tools, printing press, ink, etc.

Three sessions are available per term on Wednesday evenings, 6 pm-8 pm—term two dates: 17 May, 31st May and 14 June.

Some printing consumables such as ezi-carve lino, Yupo paper, and teatowels will be available for purchase. Teaching will only take place during this session, with participants expected to be self-directed though a member will be on hand to point out where the equipment is.

Create and explore the art of printmaking, making pop art that reflects your unique personality. Working with an artist in residence Rosalie Boland, experimented with different mark-making in foam and colour mixing to create a variety of prints.

Get festive with artist Naomi Stanitzki to create personalised Christmas (or something else of your choosing) cards, stamps and wrapping paper using printmaking techniques in the Print Room at the Cannery Arts Centre.

Sunday 20 November 10am-1pm and Sunday 27 November 10am-1pm

This is a two week course with the first week working on lino printing to make cards, and the second week making your own stamps and wrapping paper.

Artist and educator Marcia Leonard will demonstrate various printing techniques to print on fabric including block printing and screen printing. Participants will be provided with instructions and can then get creative to design their own prints.

The workshop includes one piece of ezi-carve lino, four white teatowels 70cm x 50cm 100% cotton, and instructions plus use of all the printing equipment and tools in the Print Room. Also includes free use of the Print Room during Print Club for the rest of the year to finish your printing. Extra materials including teatowels and lino will be available to purchase during Print Club.
