Children will explore the colours, patterns and textures of shells in this beautiful encaustic-style workshop, creating luminous beach-inspired artworks using layers of wax and paint.
Led by artist Elaine Fewings, participants will study shell forms and patterns before painting silvery wax backgrounds and carving into the surface to reveal lines, shapes and details beneath. Using carving tools such as lino tools and awls, kids will experiment with mark-making to create glowing, tactile artworks inspired by the coast.
A thoughtful, hands-on workshop that blends observation, process and creative exploration.
