This year, as part of AusArt Day, we’re making art happen in the Print Room!

On Thursday 22nd October we’re running a print making marathon with the goal of creating 100 fishy prints in one day. Some keen printers will be in the space between 10am - 4pm creating prints. Purchase a print through a donation, or donate $5 to try your hand at creating your very own prints to take home and add to the tally!

Why 100 prints?

AusArt Day 2026 is all about making art happen! AusArt Day is a national day celebrating Australian art and the artists, organisations and communities that make it happen.

Whilst we’re busy making 100 prints, we’re also aiming to raise $5,000 to give our Print Room some much-needed love. Even better, every $1 donated will be matched with $1 from Creative Australia, meaning if our community helps us raise $5,000, we can turn it into $10,000 for the Print Room!

Why fishy prints?

Did you know that the Cannery was once an actual fish cannery? In 1948, Hunt’s Fish Cannery was constructed to can garfish, sardines, salmon, and herring. Our Studio spaces are also turning forty this year, so we thought what better way than to pay homage to our fishy beginnings than through this print-athon!

Can’t make it on the day? You can still help us reach out $5,000 fundraising target and have your donation doubled.
