NO RULES: MIXED MEDIA ON CANVAS BOARD

Our second workshop in our Shaun Tan ‘Rules of Summer’ themed KICKARTS program kicks off with a 2hr session for children, aged 6-12yrs, where they will explore Mixed Media on Canvas Board - with no rules! Media such as acrylic paint, newspapers, and so much more will be on offer, and Doret, from Dot’s Art, will be there to assist every step of the way! Finished works can be included in a Shaun Tan inspired display of works that will be held in the Cannery’s Art Room from Oct 27th to Nov 8th.

Tutor: Doret Labuscagne

Doret Labuscagne is a self-confessed art lover. She has been like this from age 6. She used to spend all her free time drawing and day-dreaming. She also has a love for Science which might explain why she is a trained Pharmacist. She considers Art as a beautiful gift that she can give to others and has always used it to stay mentally clear and calm. Doret mainly does acrylic painting with a whimsical feel about it. She also paints with oils and likes to explore mixed media art. Her work can be viewed on her facebook page: Dot’s Art. “Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life.” – Pablo Picasso

COVID 19 Response:

The Cannery has implemented a COVID Safety Plan to ensure the health and well-being of our KICKARTS participants and tutors. Please note: social distancing will be observed in the studios, course content has been adapted to suit new safety guidelines, hand sanitiser will be provided on entry, and studios will be cleaned before and after each workshop. In addition, parents and carers are expected to drop their children off at the door to the studio. Tutors will make note of the child’s name, however parents/carers are not to enter the studios unless absolutely necessary, due to social distancing requirements and room capacity limits (please contact the Cannery on 9071 3599 if your child has any special needs and/or requires a carer present for the duration of the workshop).
