This 5 week course will focus on repurposing found materials to create a masterpiece of the sea! Participants are encouraged to bring along items found along our beaches or choose from materials provided. Pat will run through design ideas and art techniques in order to come up with unique concepts. Participants can choose to display a final piece in the Cannery’s Flotsam & Jetsam Exhibition, which runs from December 2018 to early February 2019 and displays items either made from, or inspired by, flotsam & jetsam found along our beaches, and has the objective of raising awareness regarding ocean pollution.
Participants are also encouraged to join Keep Esperance Beautiful for a beach clean up from 9am on Sunday, November 4th at Twilight Beach.
Tutor Pat McCarthy, a new Esperance resident, an old Denmark local, is a teacher and artist, and owner of PMAC Shapes Surfboards - a creative endeavour which aims to create one-of-a-kind, handcrafted surfboards.
