SALVAGE: Art from the Shed

SALVAGE: Art from the Shed is an exhibition of works made from scrap metal, recycled or repurposed materials, and works that are inspired by or embody our connections with working on the land. 

The exhibition will open in mid December 2019 and run until the end of January 2020. 

Works for entry must be delivered to the Cannery Arts Centre between December 3rd and December 6th 2019, between the hours of 10am and 4pm

Works not sold must be collected between February 4th and February 7th 2020, between the hours of 10am and 4pm.

Terms & Conditions:

  1. All work must be original.
  2. There is a limit of 3 works per artist, however artists may be permitted to enter more than 3 works if they are entering smaller items, such as jewellery or postcards.  Please contact the Cannery Arts Centre directly to discuss.
  3. Work must meet the theme of Salvage: Art from the Shed, including works made from scrap metal, recycled or repurposed materials, and works that are inspired by or embody our connections with working on the land.   
  4. Works can include any medium, 2D or 3D sculpture, photographs, poetry, digital works, and performance art, as long as it is made from, or draws inspiration from, the theme Salvage: Art from the Shed.  Works not considered relevant to this theme, or works considered inappropriate, may not be exhibited.  Please contact the Cannery Arts Centre directly if considering entering a digital work or show casing performance art, to discuss logistics. 
  5. 2D artworks must be in an easily installed state; our preference is minimum 6mm D-rings, however any device appropriate to the work will be accepted.
  6. 3D artworks must be provided with installation instructions/preferences; the Cannery Arts Centre will endeavour to meet these requirements, however due to space restrictions we may deem a different install more appropriate.
  7. It is not essential that artwork is for sale; however a commission of 25%, payable to the Cannery Arts Centre, will apply to any works sold.
  8. There are no size restrictions on entries however artists are asked to consider the installation logistics of larger works.  If you have a larger work, or a work that requires additional install considerations, please contact the Cannery Arts Centre directly to discuss logistics. 
  9. All entries must have the name and contact details of the artist, title, and price inclusive of GST (if applicable) clearly marked on the back of the works.  Sculptural pieces require a removable label.
  10. The Cannery Arts Centre will be responsible for the sale of works.  Artists will be paid for any works sold (less commission) no later than one month after the close of the exhibition.  Artists must provide an ABN or statement of supplier prior to the Cannery Arts Centre releasing any payment to the artist.
  11. The Cannery Arts Centre shall not be responsible for any loss, damage or destruction of any artworks, transport charges or arrangements.  All exhibitors are encouraged to insure valuable works against loss or damage.
