Artist Talk: with Martine Perret
Join Martine Perret, artist behind the Cannery’s current exhibition Ngala Wongga (Come Talk), for an artist talk…
Martine’s journey as an artist has seen her work as a freelance photographer, a photojournalist, and a photographer for the United Nations, where she documented scenes in areas of extraordinary conflict, such as South Sudan, East Timor, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Since establishing roots in Margaret River in 2013 Martine has worked on several projects, and has had the opportunity to explore her interest in indigenous communities and indigenous languages. In 2015 Martine began working on Ngala Wongga (Come Talk), a collaboration with the Aboriginal community in the Goldfields, WA.
