Art Installation with Fiona Gavino
Tuesday and Wednesday, 8th and 9th October
In this two-day workshop learn all about the ins and outs of working with touring exhibitions, how to condition report artworks and correct handling techniques in a contemporary gallery setting
This workshop will be a very hands-on, practical experience installing 2D, 3D and AV artworks assisting with the installation of Ngala Wongga (Come Talk) exhibition to open at the Cannery on the 11th October
Participants will gain the skills they need install their own exhibitions and handle art-works with the opportunity to join the Cannery install team for future shows.
Facilitator: Fiona Gavino
Through her role as Training Officer with ART ON THE MOVE Fiona travels the state giving practical workshops to increase skills, knowledge and awareness of visual art professional practices. Fiona Gavino is also a practicing artist who works with a broad range of textiles, fibres and natural or found materials to create sculptural, woven artworks that are beautiful as well as environmentally sensitive. The artist holds a BA in Visual Art from Charles Darwin University and has exhibited at FORM, PICA and the Museum and Art Gallery NT.
